Dear Participants and Visitors,
Surprise! The USBC makes more changes. As we are sure you already know the national office has decreased the youth age to 19. We have decided to offer the 2010 Firecracker Shootout to any certified bowler age 21 or younger as of August 1, 2009. (This continues the old USBC age requirements.)
Welcome to the eighth annual Firecracker Shootout hosted by Buena Lanes and the Ventura County Youth Bowling Association. We hope this is a memorable bowling experience and look forward to being part of your summer vacation.
The seventh Firecracker Shootout awarded $15,464. The seven year total is now $93,338. Scholarship is earned through five different events - sweeper, high game, brackets, doubles event and division payout. The three division champions also received a patriotic plaque, a one year subscription to Bowling This Month magazine and a championship shirt from Asher Embroidery.
We have lots of sponsors, coaches and volunteers in addition to Buena Lanes’ staff and management. We appreciate the way everyone works together to put on the best tournament possible.
All of you who love bowling continue doing a great job inviting others to this tournament. Last year’s tournament had the maximum entries of 120 and we hope to do it again this year. We look forward to visiting with all of you and hope you bring lots of your bowling friends.
